MEET THE TEAM

Katharine Willison, Executive Director

Katharine holds a Bachelor of Music Hons from the Royal College of Music, a Masters of Music Performance from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and spent a year studying in Paris under the highly acclaimed Pascal Gallois.  As a member of the Linos Quintet she won the Royal Overseas League Ensemble Prize and a Hattori Scholarship before being invited to compete in the ARD Munich competition. This successful ensemble toured the UK, Euope and Australia and performed two recitals at the Wigmore Hall and live on the ABC and BBC Radio 3. As a freelance musician in London Katharine performed regularly with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, The Philharmonia, Northern Sinfonia, English National Opera and at the Alderburgh, Edinburgh and Rye Festivals.

Since moving to Brisbane she has worked with Camerata, Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Festival Orchestra, Queensland Pops Orchestra and has tutored for the AYO.

Peter Luff, Artistic Director

Peter Luff is Head of Performance at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University and Associate Professor in horn and brass studies. He holds a Bachelor of Music (performance) from Adelaide University’s Elder Conservatorium and a Master of Music (conducting) from Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University.Peter has performed with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australian World Orchestra, Queensland Festival Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra, West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Southern Cross Soloists and Ensemble Q. As a conductor Peter has directed ensembles including the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Brass players, Brisbane Philharmonic, Brisbane Symphony Orchestra, QLD Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra, Brisbane Brass and the Brisbane Excelsior Band. Peter is in great demand as a Horn teacher, with many of his Horn graduates securing permanent playing positions in national and international professional symphony orchestras. Peter has served as vice president of the International Horn Society, was a member of the Advisory Council from 2011 – 2016, and is a recipient of the society’s prestigious “Punto Award” for his contributions to the Australian horn playing community.
