CONCERT 1 - Opera in the Caldera
TMF23 Opens with a night at the Opera. Scenes from early Operas by Cavalli and Handel right through to Carlisle Floyd take us on an Opera journey from the 16th to the 20th Century. Join us for an evening of bubbles and blinis, Rossini, Weber, Handel, Cavalli, Floyd and Verdi. Greg Massingham and the renowned Opera Dept from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University bring tales of love through the ages to Tyalgum.

CONCERT 2 - QCGU Ensembles
Witness the next generation of musicians as they embark on their careers. This concert is always a highlight as we enjoy the very best talent from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University.

CONCERT 3 - Vision String Quartet
The “amazingly vivacious, vivid and electrifying” German based Vision String Quartet makes time in their Musica Viva Australia tour to perform at Tyalgum.

CONCERT 4 - L’Histoire du Soldat
A tale of love, greed and temptation with a magic violin and the devil thrown in for good measure. Stravinsky’s genius is writing chamber music for the most diverse seven instruments you can think of, using their character and individual sounds to create a score that reflects the darkness of Rumez’s libretto.

CONCERT 5 - Bandaluzia Flamenco
Saturday night comes alive at our “Taberna de Tyalgum” with an evening of Flamenco. Pull up a table and enjoy a platter while ARIA nominated guitarist, Damian Wright leads this energetic ensemble in an evening dedicated to the Spanish art form. Learn some of the steps in the 20 min lesson before sitting back and enjoying the “masters at work!”

As always the Festival Gold Pass is available. Make your life easy, while saving money and buy one ticket for the whole weekend. Book now and collect your pass from the ticket desk on the Friday night then show it at the door to gain entry to all the concerts over the weekend.

CONCERT 6 - Music for a Sunday Morning
Wake up with the beautiful Brahms Horn Trio, the perfect way to start the day. Peter Luff, Courtenay Cleary and Liam Viney perform both the Horn Sonata in F Major Op.17 and Violin Sonata No.1 in D Major by Beethoven and the sublime Horn Trio by Brahms.

CONCERT 7 - Trish Dean and Anna Grinberg
Sunday continues with dynamic Cellist, Trish Dean joining forces with Anna Grinberg to present a recital which includes the World Premiere of Paul Dean’s new work, Adagio.

CONCERT 8 - Konstantin Shamray
Australian based, Russian pianist Konstantin Shamray makes his Tyalgum debut with a stunning program of Rameau, Ravel, César Franck and Prokofiev. Since making history by winning not only First Prize and the People’s Choice Prize in addition to 6 other prizes at the 2008 Sydney International Piano Competition, Konstantin has performed extensively throughout Australia and Internationally.
