Fly through a pocket version of Mozart’s much loved opera, The Magic Flute, with our friends from Voxalis Opera, who return after delighting us with their appearance in 2024.  Enjoy a glass of champaign at Interval.

As always the Festival Gold Pass is available. Make your life easy, while saving money and buy one ticket for the whole weekend. Book now and collect your pass from the ticket desk on the Friday night then show it at the door to gain entry to all the concerts over the weekend.

Join Tracey, your Nature Therapy guide, on a morning stroll down by the creek. “By silencing our own voices and minds we are free to connect to the ever changing music that nature’s orchestra performs each morning. CONCERT 3 - A Lark and a Wolf

A lark, a duck and a bird grace this afternoon’s program through two timeless pieces. 

 

The Lark Ascending, by English composer Vaughan Williams was

inspired by an 1881 English poem of the same name. Soloist Courtnay Cleary brings this beautiful piece to life.

 

For Prokofiev's classic Peter and the Wolf, Matthew Schwarz and the Limpinwood Ensemble accompany the beautiful Suzie Templeton film of the same name, which won the 2007 Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.

 

​​Illustrations by Tyalgum Public School students will interoperate the program through their original artworkoffer a fresh and original interpretation of the program.

CONCERT 4 -  Australian Haydn Ensemble

Limelight has called the AHE  "a jewel in the national period-instrument crown.”  Artistic Director, violinist Skye McIntosh grew up in Murwillumbah and studied with Tyalgum Music Festival founders John Willison and Carmel Kaine.  After a seven-year absence, we welcome back to Tyalgum Skye and the extraordinary ensemble she founded.

CONCERT 5 -  The View From Madeline’s Couch

While away the evening and share a platter and a glass of wine at our “cafe style” concert soaking up the cool Brazilian sounds of “The View From Madeline’s Couch.” Over the last 27 years they have become a stalwart of Brazilian influenced music, bringing its unique melody, harmony and rhythm to their original material.

Enjoy a peaceful start to Sunday as guitar virtuoso Karin Schaupp, along with the guitars of the Riverside Ensemble, return to Tyalgum.  Karin is an international recitalist, soloist, festival guest and winner of two ARIAs.

Artist ambassador for Kawai Australia, Alex Raineri, closes the 2025 Tyalgum Music Festival  with a lively program inspired by birds through the music of Glinka, Ravel, Eöt vös and Messiaen.
